CELADNA, Czech Republic – Former Cameron men’s golfer Peter Svajlen (75-74) finished just three strokes from making the cut at the Czech Open over the weekend. Svajlen overcame a rough start to make a push for the cut, as he finished his 36 holes with a 149.

On the first day Svajlen double bogeyed his first hole, bogeyed the second and doubled the fourth before he birded and pared holes five and six. After the turn, Svajlen finished one under par after a pair of birdies on holes 13 and 15.

Day two did not start much better for the Cameron graduate, as he doubled his first hole again. He played after the rought start again posting 3 birdies and 3 bogeys to finish his day two over par 74.

Peter Hanson (67-70-67-74) of Sweeden took home the trophy, as he won the Czech Open with a final total of 278. Svajlen, meanwhile, was the top finisher from Slovakia in his first professional tournament.
